Best All-Around Car Model For the Pacific Northwest: The 2014 Subaru Forester Limited and Forester XT Limited. I believe these are now the best vehicles that Subaru currently makes. Unfortunately, without a diesel option and with more ethanol on it's way to our pumps this may be the last year I recommend a gasoline vehicle for Best All-Around Car Model.
Best Minivan: Toyota Sienna AWD. Still the only minivan with available AWD.
Best Large SUV: Toyota Sequoia 4WD. As dependable of a large SUV as you will find. With two powerful V-8 engine choices you can pull or haul with confidence. The ground clearance is still naturally higher than most of its competitors, making it more ready for nasty logging roads, deep snow or off road travel..
Best Full-Size (diesel) Truck: Ford F-250, F-350. Comfortable and still the best design inside and out. These diesel engines are the quietest and return top notch mpg's.
Best Fuel Sipper: Volkswagen Jetta TDi Sportswagen. Again, still the best, thanks to it's advantages in safety and room. Competition is heating up in the diesel market. Keep an eye open for Mazda's new diesel entry this fall.
If you are more flush with cash the BMW and Mercedes diesels are also worth a serious look and excellent for long freeway cruises.
