While much of the country and the world has, more or less been forced into staycation for the last few months, it is, (or soon will be) becoming increasingly apparent to many drivers that their vehicles have also suffered during the downtime.
Unless you have invested in a trickle charger or still drive your car, you may have some starting issues. The issue at hand is that car batteries continue to drain off energy when the engine (or charger) isn't recharging them. The problem is made worse for colder areas, where car batteries can easily and quite quickly lose most of their Cold Cranking Amperage, made worse with car electronics, such as alarm systems, which further drain the battery. When your car battery dips down too far, for too long, the battery can shut down permanently. On certain car models, this can really make for a difficult time, as some power door lock designs are unforgiving, especially if your remote has no key and there is no keyhole in the door! Getting access into your vehicle is always an important first step, to gain access to the battery.
